Merry Christmas To All...

Did anyone else think that Christmas came and went surprisingly fast?  I am certainly am not ready to take down my Christmas decorations, because I just put them up!  Geeze.. This Christmas, we celebrated a little early, and opened our presents on Christmas Eve Eve.  Audrey LOVED her gift.....boxes, and I loved my spiffy new camera that my sweet husband gave me for my Christmas/Anniversary/Birthday gift.  :) After opening presents at our house, we left for for my parents house to spend a few days.  Our first event was our Christmas Eve dinner at Mom-maw's house.  We at tons of food and played Just Dance for hours!  John and I had to tap out a little early to get Little Miss to bed, but I heard that there was a Rudolph sighting in the field behind Mom-maw's house!  Glad Rudolph didn't run into the hay bales! :)

 So close to crawling....

Caleb shared the Christmas story with us.

 On the nice list...

Audrey was excited about Christmas! Can't you tell?

On Christmas morning, my dear parents WOKE A SLEEPING BABY at 7:00, so we could open presents before church.  Audrey ended up with way more toys and clothes than our house can hold, but she loves them all!

Did I mention that she loves boxes?

Her new rocking "bee" is a major hit!  Thanks Grammy and Pop-paw!

Daddy was surprised with his new Ipad.

After church shots with the family (and new camera).

On Monday, my girls got together to celebrate our annual Christmas gathering.  Of course Audrey was the center of attention.  Pretty sure they only invited me so they could spend time with Audrey. :) As always, we had a great time catching up with each other.  Love my girls!

Auntie CG showed Audrey how to play the piano.

The girls getting Audrey lovin'.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

What A Face!

What a cute little face, huh?  This is her, " I need to brace myself for the loud noise that this cup will make when I throw it on the floor for Mommy to pick up repeatedly" face.  SO MEAN!

8 Months!

Little girl turned 8 months this week!  Some eight month milestones are:

  • She discovered how to wave this week, and will randomly wave at the dog, cat, Christmas tree, TV, etc.
  • She still hasn't exactly figured out how to crawl, but knows how to get places!  Rolling is her new way to get around, and I had to rearrange her room to give her a little bit more "roll room". Today, I peeped in her room and thought I had lost her because she rolled to the opposite side of the room I had left her on. Whew! Mini-heart attack!
  • Her favorite word is Momma, sorry John.  I'm not really sure if she is just babbling , but I like to think she knows what she is saying.
  • Baby puffs are her new favorite "food", and we regularly use them as bribery.
  • She is starting to pull up on things, and loves to do this with John while he is attempting to reading to her.   (I attached the video so you can watch because it is too cute for words.)

Basically, she is even more adorable this month, if possible.  Love my girl, in case you didn't notice. :)

Christmas Time's a Comin'..

My sweet husband came home early from work Friday so we could pick out our Christmas tree.  I was very excited to take Audrey on her first hunt for the perfect tree.  We bundled up and drove to the tree farm up the road.  Just so you know, I am notorious for taking hours to find the "perfect" tree, only to bring it home and realize that it doesn't fit into our little bitty living room.   Last year, John had to cut the bottom off the tree.  The year before, the star wouldn't fit. They just look so much smaller outside!  I vowed to do better in tree sizing this year, and John only had to remind me once or twice  a few times.  After 30 minutes of walking through rows and rows of blue spruce trees that John declared, "All look the same", we found the perfect "little" tree.
A view of the tree farm and my beautiful mountains.

Off to find the tree.  "Are you coming Mommy?"

Found it! Audrey approves.
(Don't I have a beautiful family?)

Audrey "helped" put the lights on the tree.

She was fascinated by the bright colors.

We finally decorated the tree and the whole house on Saturday.  I really wish I would have snapped a picture of the containers that John so willingly toted down the stairs, all 6 of them, one which weighed a good 60 pounds.

Turkey Day...

We celebrated Thanksgiving twice this year.  Lucky us enjoyed twice the amount of turkey and stuffing and all the fixin's.  Our first Thanksgiving meal was at Mommaw's house.  We all met up in Craig to eat a wonderful meal with the King's.  Of course, everything was amazingly delicious.  How could it not be?  Mommaw was cooking. We spent the afternoon relaxing, catching up, and avoiding naps (no names included to protect the guilty person).
Our next stop was Brunswick, to spend the week with the Dennis'.  The house was full of family and we enjoyed every minute.  We did everything from shooting skeet to having a baby shower for the Mommy to be, Emily, and photo shoots with the family.  It was a wonderful week of food, family, and  free babysitting.

Hanging out with Dad before our Thanksgiving festivities.

 Great-Granddaddy lovin'.

 Great Mommaw lovin'.

 Mommy look alike!

Front porch rocking at Maw's house.

 Too cute for words.

 Uncle Will lovin'.

Cousin Lily and Aunt Laura helped Audrey make Maw a birthday card.

 Glenda was a wonderful babysitter!

Lucy did a great job quail hunting.  She made her Mom and Dad very proud.

Pointing the birds.

Lily and Audrey had so much fun playing together!!  I believe we may have two mischievous little girls in the future.

Packin' the heat all gangsta like.

 Holly the sharp shooter.

Yup, shooting the hand gun terrifies me, but I did manage to take out a pine tree. :)

Happy Birthday to two of my most favorite people in the whole world.  You both make my life so much brighter!

Reading our favorite book before bedtime.

Halloween Part II

Halloween was very uneventful at our house this year.  Obviously, we aren't going to take our 6 month old trick or treating, because we KNOW who would be eating all of the candy.  We didn't have any trick or treaters either, which wasn't a surprise since we never do.  Of course I had to make Audrey a Halloween costume.  How could I miss a photo opportunity?  Yes, she is dressed in a frilly skirt.  No, she will not be a prissy girl when she gets older.  The bows and frills stop when she starts to understand that her Mother is playing dress up.  Period.

 Mommy's little pumpkin. :)

 Watching our favorite dog, Lucy.

Happy Halloween!!

Audrey "participated" in her first pumpkin carving this weekend.

First, she played with the pumpkin goo...She was a bit hesitant at first, but that didn't last long.

She sampled it and decided that it was better to play with.

 Then, she wore it....literally.

Happy Halloween!!
