More Like Ruth..

We have been battling night time wake ups a lot since Audrey had the croup.  It is utterly exhausting to wake up several times a night, and frustrating when I feel she should be out of this stage, since she is closing in on one year.  This morning she woke at 5:30 a.m. and we were determined she WAS NOT getting out of her crib, and she was determined she WAS NOT going back to sleep.  She cried for at least 30 minutes, and I finally gave in.  After a brief temper tantrum, I took her downstairs to rock and calm down.  As I was holding her and singing to her, she was twirling my hair around her sweet little fingers and humming along with me.  How is it that this little girl can make the make the most frustrating situations just disappear?  Why do I get so upset over something so ridiculous as a crying baby?  It made me reflect on my bible study this week, which was about Ruth and her selfless attitude.  I pray that I can be more like Ruth, and be more selfless and less selfish in ALL aspects of my life!  I know I am probably not considered a selfish person, but sometimes I can be far from selfless. Do I always do what God wants me to do first, even when it is inconvenient for me?  No, but I am working on it.  Does God want me to wake up at crazy hours and be overwhelmed with frustration?  No, but maybe he is trying to teach me to have a selfless attitude.  If Ruth can do it, I can too. :)

Spring Has Sprung!

Is anyone else loving this beautiful weather?  Audrey and I have LIVED outside these past few days (she loves the outdoors as much as her Momma).  I am also loving the warmer weather because I get to see more sweet baby meat, and am actually obsessed with little arms, legs and bare feet!

You're taking my picture again?

What is she doing?  Eating flowers of course!

11 Months..

We have been in survival mode this past week.  Audrey ended up with the croup, but is FINALLY starting to feel better.  The whole experience was terrifying and exhausting for ALL of us!  So, that is my excuse for ignoring my blog for a few weeks.
With that being said, there aren't any new pictures to post today as I write this update.  Who would want to see a cranky baby picture anyway?  But, Audrey is 11 months old today, which is something to celebrate!  One more month until she is one!  How did that happen?  She added a few more words to her vocabulary this month, "ouch", "da-da", and a clucking chicken sound that I have no clue how to spell.  She enjoys trying to feed you her food while she is eating, and is courteous enough to even chew it for you.  How can you tell that sweet, little face that you don't want her chewed up, slimy, croup infested cheerio?  She LOVES spaghetti, and will suck the noodles up into her mouth.  No walking yet, and for that I am glad.  She is a hand full already!  She is standing and picking things up off the ground, so I know it won't be too much longer. UGH, not ready for walking yet!
P.S.  Be on the look out for your one year party invitation!  It's gonna be fun!
Enjoying the 70 degree weather today.  Yes, I know she is mismatched.  But look at those sweet little baby arms.

Little Ladies...

Last weekend, us girls (minus Audrey), pampered ourselves at the spa.  We were treated with facials, a massage, and manicures!  A very relaxing day, versus my usual day as a "Audrey's Mom" (Lily's name for me).  While we were being spoiled, Brenda and Lily were babysitting.  Lily was a wonderful little babysitter, and is such a Mother Hen.  She followed Audrey around the whole time, and was so sweet and gentle.  I can't wait until all 4 cousins are running around together, causing all kinds of trouble!

 Snuggle buddies!

Bird watching..

The girls loved being read to, and would gladly crawl into your lap for a story.
