Hard At Work

John has spent the past few weeks working on projects around our little house. His first project, since I can no longer paint, was painting Grandma's old furniture. We were originally going to buy new furniture, but figured we may need to save a little for the mounds of diapers in the very near future. He spent all day on the first piece and surprised me with it when I came home from work. I love the interesting "wave" on the front of the furniture. He is still working on the second piece, but got a little sidetracked with the building of his quail cage.

His second project was putting together our new bed frame. John thought of this Christmas gift all by himself and I thought he did a great job picking it out. I would have been completely surprised but he wanted to make sure I liked it before he purchased it.

With all of these little projects, I laugh to think that John may be "nest
ing" before the baby arrives. Don't tell him I said that. :)

New and improved!

The new bed frame.

The "work in progress".

  1. Jessica, I am completely SHOCKED at how well that dresser came out!! Who would have known?! It looks AMAZING!! And how special that it was Grandma's. I take back my ribbing of John for not buying you some NEW furniture. I absolutely love it. Now can you get John to post a tutorial on how he did that so the rest of us can have the know how. I am so proud of the JD. :)

  2. It looks great! Tell John I am impressed :) I also wish that I could come up with a valid, life long excuse to get out of painting...I'm a little jealous. Happy Nesting!

  3. I have tried three times to post! I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Hopefully this time it'll work. Tell Johnny Cakes that he did a great job on Mom's dresser. It's stunning. And so are you, Jessica. It's so exciting that you and Joanna are both having little girls, two months apart. XO
