Audrey has proven herself to be quite a drama queen. Where did she inherit this trait? I haven't the slightest clue! We are trying to get out and about a little bit more and even went our church this Sunday. We woke up extra early to give ourselves plenty of time to get out the door. We made it out the door with only a minor meltdown and prayed that she would fall asleep in the car. She finally closed her eyes as we pulled in the parking lot. We rolled in about 5 minutes late and sat near the back in case I needed to make a hasty exit with her. John and I both kept glancing at her car seat looking for the red face and lip quiver that signals a meltdown. All went well for 15 minutes when she decided, and let EVERYONE know that she didn't want to nap or sit still. I left the sanctuary and rocked her to sleep in the nursery. I looked around at all of the other babies playing by themselves, and made note to find their mothers to ask how they did that!! Thinking we were safely asleep, I went back to the sanctuary for the last few minutes. The pastor was praying and I was peeking to make sure she was still asleep, when the red face appeared! She squalled and I quickly made an exit and stayed put until church was over. We came home and all three took a nap!
I hope it doesn't sound as if I am complaining, because I absolutely would not trade this for the world! She rewards all of our hard work with smiles and coos that make our day. She has started to discover her voice more and will give a little cackle with her grin of you act really goofy, which we are experts at. ;)
