Hiking the AT

We love the Appalachian Trail, and are fortunate to live so close to it. Yesterday we decided to take our little girl on her first AT hike.  We chose a short distance hike, just in case, but it turns out Audrey enjoys hiking as much as her parents.  She gladly rode in her pack without any complaint, taking in all of the sights and sounds. We hiked to the Keffer Oak, which is said to be the oldest oak on the AT.  It is over 300 years old and amazingly HUGE!!  See for yourself..

It is a Keebler Elf!  No, just Audrey.

 Attempting a family photo.  FAIL!

Notice how small the other trees look in comparison!  The circumference of the tree is said to be 18 feet!

First of many outdoor adventures and AT hikes!
