Making Memories...

This one is going to be a long one.  I had to weed through 488 pictures and only pick a few.  Do you know how difficult that is?  Practically impossible, especially when you have a cute baby.  
Anyway, Last week we took a MUCH needed vacation to Avon beach, on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  We joined up with my parents and sister and rented a house with a tiny, Audrey size pool, and a hot tub.  The house was one row back from the beach, so the walk to the beach wasn't bad (except for the gigantic, monster size mosquitoes).  It was Audrey's first trip to the beach, and I am pretty sure she wasn't disappointed!  She LOVED the sand and ocean so much, that we had to keep her from running into the waves.  Her favorite spot was the sound side of the beach, where the water was calm and warm.  
John and I enjoyed the trip just as much.  This was our first vacation with Audrey, and we discovered that our vacations don't revolve around us anymore, but we are okay with that.  We are perfectly content watching our little girl enjoy herself and making memories as a family.

 The trip would have not been complete without a wagon.  Unfortunately, this is the only one we had room to pack.

We visited the light house, but they wouldn't allow Audrey to go up with us.  John stayed behind while we climbed 20 flights of stairs.  Do you see Audrey in the picture??

 How about now?

 Audrey woke up at before 6 almost every morning.  We just saw it as an opportunity to watch the sun rise. 

We rode the ferry to Ocracoke Island one afternoon.  John took a few shots of the "prettiest time of the day" on the way back.

Look what we found during our visit to the sound side one day!  Audrey wasn't the only one amazed!!

On our last day, we drove out to the sound side one last time, and saw these beautiful birds. 

We all had so much fun, and made some wonderful memories.  Can't wait until next year!
