First off, I would like to say that I am a responsible parent, and I DO supervise my child.. With that said, please do not judge me as I tell you about our "eventful" day yesterday..
1. Audrey and I had just eaten lunch and I was washing up a few leftover dishes, when I realized I didn't hear Audrey playing and the last word I heard her say was, "Pass?". If you have ever been around children, you know that silence usually means that they are a) reading quietly in a corner somewhere or b) into something that they shouldn't be. Unfortunately, Audrey was not reading quietly in a corner, but hiding pass (paci) IN the toilet and closing the lid... I'm not positive that paci made it back into her mouth after the swim in the toilet, but for my sanity, we will say that it did NOT.
2. Yesterday was a beautiful day, and we were outside playing in the side yard. My neighbors stopped by for a visit, and Audrey was walking around picking up sticks and putting them in her wagon. I happened to glance over at Audrey, and she was bent over picking something up. I couldn't really see her, because her wagon was blocking my view, but I did notice that Lucy was acting really strange and nipping at Audrey's' hand. Lucy is a very gentle dog and would never hurt Audrey, so I walked over to see what was going on and realized Audrey was holding a baby SNAKE!! Yes, I said SNAKE! It was dead, but I don't know if Lucy killed it while Audrey was holding it, or if Audrey picked it up after Lucy killed it....Once again, for my sanity, we will say that it was dead before my 1 year old daughter picked it up...Thankfully, it was not poisonous, because my heart can only handle so much before it goes into cardiac arrest...
I am very hopeful that we have a less eventful day today. I can't imagine why, can you??
Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! That is what was going through my head as I was reading this...especially number 2. The scary thing is Will would have loved and probably encouraged numer 2. I'm getting nervous just thinking about it!
ReplyDeleteWow, I feel so proud of Lucy.... Maybe she was trying to protect Audrey? And paci in the toilet... Sooo gross!
ReplyDeleteSounds like Audrey may have a lot of Dr. Dennis in her!! Robert has some snake stories of his own & now so does Audrey. Not sure Robert's started at age one. I DON'T LIKE SNAKES!!! My Justin did, and I cringed every time.
